Blepharitis is a common and persistent inflammation of the eyelids that unfortunately often becomes chronic. This is an extremely common condition. The symptoms are reddening of the eyelid margins, irritation, a foreign body sensation, burning, itching, and crusting in the morning. Untreated this chronic condition can lead to recurrent styes, dry eyes and loss of lashes.

Treatment for blepharitis is very simple and consists of warm compresses at night, cleaning the eyelids daily and instillation of teardrops.
